We are a proactive platform committed to revolutionizing the pursuit of justice and responding to the evolving needs of Gen Z and Millennials. Our aim is to empower the voices of the youth, champion their causes and spearhead initiatives that drive societal change. We are not just reacting to current challenges but actively shaping a future where the aspirations and concerns of young generations are at the forefront of policy and societal transformation.

Our Background

Citizen Assembly was established to address the urgent need for a dedicated platform that amplifies the voices of Gen Z and Millennials in Kenya. In the face of escalating social and political challenges, we emerged as a beacon of hope committed to harnessing the collective power of the youth to drive meaningful change.

Our organization was founded to bridge the gap between youthful enthusiasm and impactful action by providing a robust framework for advocacy, legal support and community engagement. We began our journey in response to a rising wave of activism among young Kenyans, who demanded greater transparency, accountability, and inclusivity from their leaders. Citizen Assembly aims to channel this momentum into strategic initiatives that address systemic issues and promote social justice.

Our work involves mobilizing grassroots movements, offering legal assistance to those facing injustice, and fostering dialogue between citizens and policymakers.

Where Do We Go From Here?

The plight of Kenyan Youth remains uncertain, the wave of the deaths of dozens of young people as law enforcement officers cracked down on protests countrywide have left the citizenry broken and divided than ever. Extrajudicial executions continue unabated; shooting of unarmed young peaceful protesters is the new norm during Youth-led protests.

From deaths resulting from torture and police brutality on the streets to enforced disappearances and Police abductions; the rule of law has been dealt a major blow by an authoritarian regime that has managed to weaponize the police and officers from the Kenya Defense Forces against its own citizens thus eroding any trust locals had in the security agencies to maintain law and order.

Taking justice to the people unlike previous occasions when victims have waited for eternity for justice.

Our Process

We lead a process that seeks to heal the nation, calm the storm and create room for meaningful dialogue with the two generations. The conversations with the Youth will be implemented in specific engaging and open formats broken down into four facets of communications:
