What We do

Setting up a viable platform to seek justice for the victims while addressing the contemporary demands of the Gen Z and Millennials.

Citizen Assembly (CA) is a peoples’ platform for direct democracy in line with article 1 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

CA is a forum for every common Kenyan to directly be part of decision making, discuss issues affecting them freely and openly until everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

CA is powered by the Law Society of Kenya, Civil Societies, Social Justice Movements, Human Rights defenders across the country and Kenyans of good will.

Following the wave of protests that rocked Kenya in June and July 2024 Citizen Assembly stepped up as a powerful way to collect views of Kenyans, offer solace to the victims while engaging with key players of peaceful ways to influence decisions, consider issues for a people driven change.

Citizen Assembly MUST NOT be confused with Government driven dialogue made of more formalized institutional processes with selected participants based on a representative sample of the population that the chosen issues affect.

The Citizen Assembly sits weekly online and virtually on X Spaces, Facebook, YouTube and on Tik tok.

The sessions are moderated by notable media personalities who believe in the cause. From time to time, CA will move across the country during such sitings without fear, favour or discrimination.
